Water Cooled Diesel Engines - Compact yet Powerful

Compact machinery engines are becoming more technological. And with increased performance as well as offering reduced noise and emissions.

YUFAN water-cooled diesel engines provide superior performance and sound reduction in various temperatures. Utilizing a closed system minimizes the loss of coolant due to evaporation.

Incorporating water coolant further improves the engine’s thermal efficiency. It significantly reduces unwanted engine noise.

Air-cooled Excavator Engines - More Powerful than Ever

Our air-cooled diesel generator doesn’t require many components. For example, a water pump, radiator, temperature gauge, or hoses.

As these components are absent, the risk of several issues is eliminated – like freezing and leaking coolant, evaporation, boiling coolant, and potential contamination and corrosion caused by it. This all adds up to a more reliable and efficient engine.

Excavator Engine Power for Tough Tasks

• Ability to take a drive from both engine ends to meet the specific application requirements.

• Exceptional fuel efficiency and low costs compared with other similar-class engines. Its suggested minimum overhaul period is between 5,000 and 8,000 hours.

• Injectors are located outside the rocker cover for easy access during service.

• Standard oil filling and raised dipstick arrangement.

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of engines do you use?

Hydraulic excavators are typically powered by diesel engines, ranging from 13 HP to hundreds of horsepower. Pumps are essential to a hydraulic excavator as they operate primary and auxiliary systems. Machines with larger engines require multiple pumps to function properly.

What brand of the engine does YUFAN use?

At YUFAN, we understand that engine power is essential for superior performance. That’s why we only partner with the most reliable brands in the domestic market, such as Yuchai, Xinchai, and Kubota. We also offer customized engine options to suit your specific needs.

What are the differences between Rato and Briggs & Stratton engines?

Briggs & Stratton is an American brand widely used in small construction machinery in North America, known for its high recognition. Rato is a Chinese engine brand, yet its performance rivals that of Honda engines. It is a cost-effective choice for your machine. Both engines meet EPA4 emission standards.

Will the engine of the excavator be overloaded frequently?

Under normal operating conditions, the excavator’s engine will not encounter this issue. However, the engine’s RPM(Revolutions Per Minute) can decrease when the excavator operates under heavy loads. And in severe cases, it may result in engine shutdown.

Several factors can contribute to such malfunctions:
1. Environmental factors: Excavators cannot work in an environment above 35℃ for a long time, this can potentially cause engine overload.

2. Engine-related issues: Certain engine-related factors, such as insufficient lubrication or cooling, may lead to engine strain.

3. Hydraulic system problems: Malfunctions or inefficiencies in the hydraulic system can indirectly affect the engine’s performance.

What to do if the excavator engine cannot speed up?
If the excavator engine is unable to speed up and all other functions are working normally, but the rotary brake can not be opened, it might indicate insufficient pressure on pilot oil. In such cases, it is recommended to contact our after-sales department directly, where our team of professional service personnel will be available to provide guidance and assistance.
Why does the excavator sometimes have difficulty starting after being used for a while?

If you leave the excavator’s battery on after use, it can drain the battery and cause starting issues. The battery compartment is easy to overlook. Because it is located on the side of the machine.

Please make sure to double-check that the equipment is fully turned off after use to prevent this issue. Taking care of these details helps ensure the smooth operation and reliability of your equipment.

How many cylinders do your single and large excavators have in their engines?
Currently, our compact excavators have single-cylinder engines for models below 1.2 tons, dual-cylinder engines for 1.5-ton models, and 1.8 to 2.0 ton models feature engines from Kubota or Yanmar with three cylinders.
Do you offer Briggs and Stratton engines for your machines?
Yes, we offer a range of engine options to accommodate different requirements in various countries. We can provide you with Briggs and Stratton engines for your YUFAN machine. If you have specific engine brand preferences, our professional team will work to meet your needs after analyzing your requirements.
Is the gasoline engine less powerful than diesel?
Yes, commonly used gasoline engines like Briggs & Stratton may have slightly less power compared to diesel engines. However, they meet EPA standards and provide cost-effective alternatives to high-priced Kubota diesel engines.
What kind of engine is Laidong?
Laidong is a Chinese manufacturer known for producing diesel engines. Their engines are suitable for YUFAN 2.2 ton to 5 ton excavators. However, we don’t recommend them for excavators under 2 tons.
